“You Can’t Do Everything At Once, But You Can Respond At Once”

I have a confession, in my past relationships, I used to do things that ultimately became counterproductive to their growth. I would pull away, create problems where there were none, and argue over small things that really meant nothing to me. Is it safe to say you and I were somewhat the same? The closer we got, the more vulnerable and afraid we became.

I never understood that until I took the time to stop, reflect, and listen to my pain. That’s when I realized I was just as afraid of being hurt as you were. But don’t worry, this will be our little secret.
